Max Risk Per Trade
The most common question from new gold traders is not "which EA should I use" — it is "how much do I actually need?" The honest answer has two parts: a technical minimum (the smallest deposit a broker will accept) and a practical minimum (the amount you need to trade safely without blowing your account on a normal losing streak).
XAUUSD is a high-value instrument. One standard lot of gold (100 troy ounces) moves $10 per pip. At a micro lot (0.01 lots), that same pip is worth $0.10. This means even small accounts can participate in gold trading — but your lot size must be set correctly relative to your balance, or a short run of losing trades will wipe you out before the EA can recover.
The good news: Goldie Razor V2.8.4 and all Pro-Scalper EAs support micro lot trading from 0.01. You do not need a large account to start. What you need is the right ratio of account size to lot size, and the discipline not to over-leverage. This guide breaks that down by capital tier.

Why Account Size Matters More Than You Think
Most beginner traders think of account size as simply "how much they can afford to lose." Professional traders think of it differently: account size determines how much risk you can absorb per trade while surviving a normal drawdown sequence. These are very different things.
Any trading strategy — even the best gold EA — will go through periods of consecutive losses. A system with a 65% win rate will still produce a run of 5–6 losing trades with reasonable frequency. If each of those losses represents 10% of your account, you are bankrupt before the streak ends. If each loss is 1%, your account is at 94% after six losses — fully recoverable.
This is why the 1–2% risk rule is not optional. At a $500 account, 1% is $5 risk per trade. If your stop loss is 50 pips and you are using 0.01 lots (pip value = $0.10), a 50-pip stop loss = $5. That is exactly 1% risk. As your account grows to $1,000, you scale to 0.02 lots, keeping the same 1% ratio. The lot size grows with your account — never faster.
All Pro-Scalper EAs support this approach. You set the lot size in the EA settings when you attach it to the chart. Start low, watch how the EA trades for at least two weeks, then scale up gradually as your confidence and account balance grow together.

Choosing the Right Lot Size at Every Account Level
Lot size is the single most important decision you will make when setting up your gold EA. Too small and you make almost no money. Too large and a normal drawdown destroys your account. The formula is simple: multiply your account balance by your risk percentage, divide by your stop loss in dollar terms.
At $100–$500 (Micro tier): Use 0.01 lots exclusively. At 0.01 lots, one pip = $0.10. A 50-pip stop loss costs $5, which is 1% of a $500 account. This is correct. Do not go to 0.02 until you reach $1,000.
At $500–$2,000 (Starter tier): Begin at 0.01 and scale by 0.01 for every $500 of growth. At $1,000 you trade 0.02 lots. At $1,500 you trade 0.03. At $2,000 you reach 0.04. This mechanical scaling removes emotion from the process.
At $2,000–$10,000 (Standard tier): You can now run multiple EAs simultaneously without each one competing for the same margin. The recommended approach is to run Goldie Razor V2.8.4 on M15 and Blind Sniper X PRO on H1, with separate lot sizes for each — keeping total combined risk under 2% per day.
At $10,000+ (Pro tier): The bundle deal makes the most sense here. With five EAs running across different timeframes and strategies, your daily drawdown is diversified. One EA having a losing day does not mean all five do. This is professional portfolio thinking applied to gold EA trading.
Remember: leverage is your broker's tool, not yours. Just because your broker offers 1:500 leverage on gold does not mean you should use it. Keep effective leverage below 10:1 and let the EA compound returns over time rather than gambling on high leverage to "make up for" a small account.
How to Grow a Small Gold Account Into a Serious Trading Operation
Starting with $500 and turning it into $10,000 sounds like a long journey — but with a consistent EA strategy and disciplined compounding, the math works in your favour. At $500 running 0.01 lots with a strategy that produces 150 pips per week net, you earn approximately $15 per week, or $780 per year. Not exciting.
But if you compound — increasing lot size with your growing balance — the trajectory changes. At $1,000 you earn $30/week. At $2,000 you earn $60/week. At $5,000 running 0.10 lots, you earn $150/week, or $7,800 per year. The same strategy, the same EA, the same market. The only variable is your account size and your willingness to be patient.
This is why the first question to ask is not "how do I make the most money fastest?" but "how do I keep my account alive long enough for compounding to work?" Pro-Scalper EAs are built with this philosophy: conservative lot sizing by default, adjustable settings, and strategies tested to survive difficult market conditions.

One additional consideration for small accounts: prop firm funding. If you can demonstrate a consistent trading strategy on a $500 demo account for 30 days, many prop firms will fund you with $10,000–$100,000 at no additional cost beyond the challenge fee. Running a Pro-Scalper EA on a prop firm challenge account is a legitimate path to trading professional-level capital.
